kinda off topic, but I saw cheese for the first time recently and it was easily one of the best shows I have ever seen. Soo i'm just really bummed that I wont see them for a long time or possibly even forever. :( :o   8)

As a definate fan of the Cheese, I'd say that they'll be back at it after a few years, that would be my guess. I would guess a group as hot as SCI would just drop out forever. My guess is the boys take a break to pursue their side projects and maybe some solo work, give themselves time to expand musically before coming back to melt us all down even harder than they ever have.

(And on a side note, Hot Buttered Rum is definently a blazin' group, but I think SCI is definently where its at as far as the jam scene has been goin'.)

You know if Leftover Salmon can bring it back together after becoming a near extinct species, then SCI can do it too. The side projects are great (I love Zilla) but they will never manifest themselves into the larger than life force that is Cheese. I think it's at least fun to entertain the notion that SCI will reunite after they split up for a while. The thought of never seeing them again is just too bitter of a pill to swallow.

I even hear that Eddie Van and David Lee are going to have a go at a tour at the end of September. If that can happen...well, I can sleep easy tonight. Cheese will be back.

not at all dude
cheese is awesome

mule has sucked since woody dies
with him they were really good, but most of their songs were extremley similar.

and no way is panic better than cheese. panic is way more generic

tho i like john bell a lot

and theyre better now that herring has joined up

I can't even fathom Panic being better than Cheese in my eyes ... different strokes for different folks .... thats why we all pay for our own tickets ... but Panic to me is just one big Jimmy Herring solo with no dynamics, just blowing from start to finish

Im not gonna lie, Jimmy rips it up, almost to much. there are certin songs where u cant always do a rocking solo. tho John bell is a great singer/guitar player and dave schools is my second favorite bass player next to flea from RHCP.

i still think that string cheese is to happy happy joy joy.

I stopped seeing SCI around 01 and lost interest when I heard about the Keller Williams business. This comparison to techno interests me though-- I've been thinking for a long time there needs to be a more diverse fusion of electronic and man-made stylings, especially live. While I dont know that SCIs brand of that would work for me, I can't know until I hear it.

Wankey doodle dandy. Yeah, I appreciate hearing this sentiment in a musical critique. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

But I disagree with you about Widespread Panic. There's a lot of subtlety involved in that pulsing wall of sound. Well, I don't know about lately. What it comes down to really is that I miss Mikey's playing.
