It all depends on lighting and what angle you look.Those photos were taken after a few coats of lacquer after 16-20 the lines will be smoother. It has been an elusive dragon to chase. I do try to get the essence of the original but, carve each one slightly different. I see some ridges .

Did Thomas shed any light on the carving while you were at his workshop? Looking good btw.

I am not sure he was there when the carving was done. I think he left his apprenticeship fairly early in the build.
