Really enjoyed it. It's timing was perfect for me, i needed a little documentary to relax with.

IMHO, it's absolutely worth a watch, but contains very little that anyone up on the Dead doesn't already know. A lot of time spent on well-worn history, familiar stories, etc. Few surprises, sticks to the established narrative. Not much new performance footage, really, and almost nothing from the mid-late 80s, which was when I saw the bulk of my shows. Also fails to address the one question that begs to be asked: Bobby: WTF was up with those short shorts?
Cool to see his home life for sure, and get a sense of who he is nowadays, but I--and admittedly I'm biased--could have used a lot more on his playing, his studio, his guitar collection, etc. I mean, I'm not your typical viewer (none of us here probably are), but I could have easily watched an hour and a half on his gear and another hour and a half on his chord voicings.
But heck, all in all, a good time. He deserves his own documentary, and I'm glad he got it.

Given the timing, it could have easily become a promo piece for the 50th or his studio. I'm glad it told a simple story about a humble guy with a boatload of talent and life experiences.

I enjoyed it, he comes across very lucid in this documentary . So it was great to seem in that light. Since some of his past interviews it seems his attention span was easily thrown off track.

I enjoyed the documentary, it did a good job of showing Bobby's life today. Funny that he had never shown his family 710 Ashbury.
I will say, that 'Bobby getting busted dropping water balloons' story is getting old. It must be a require inclusion in every Dead related book, movie, or interview. I think I've heard that story like 100 times.

Love the scene with him, Phil, and Jerry playing She belongs to me. Bobby forgets a verse, because Jerry puts down a beautiful lead that I think distracts him. It's great to see and hear their humorous interaction!

The acoustic WRS Prelude that's played during the Egypt segment, does anyone know if there's a copy of that anywhere? It sounded fantastic. I kept waiting for it to cut to Bobby playing, just never happened.

Yes this was a very good Documentary, and I myself learned 2 things from it. I cant wait until Weir writes a book. Also anyone seen the preview to Weirs interview? I think that will be interesting to see as well.
