I'm a trained singer, baritone Vedder-like voice and I can comfortably sing Jerry's voice in every song and never felt I was going out of my tessitura. Are you sure he's a tenor?

I've never heard it described differently. E.g, in Time Magazine's obituary, "To the lyrics Garcia lent humanity with his frail tenor." https://time.com/3833649/jerry-garcia-the-trip-ends/
