Yep - a good light show adds a whole other dimension to the music. Sometimes I find myself jamming with the pattern of the lights - maybe the lights get dark and spooky and I go there too. Or if it goes to a strobe kinda thing I can riff to the intensity of it. Sometimes the lights play the band!

That is awesome Strum... I saw the pics on FB and they look like what we need, size and output wise. I thought a projector would be great but you have to be in a room with 100ft walls to project on. Otherwise, it looks like a pair of 4 light bars will do nicely.

I did notice the lights can really help set the mood or enhance the mood of the music which is a total sensory overload in a good way!

We use Groovin Lumens, a friends lighting company for bigger shows...hes not tooo expensive.
For smaller shows get 4 to 8 led par cans and a controller that will slow blend color changes and a few moonflowers with a fog machine. Put the moonflowers on a chase controller that syncs to the music along with a switch so you can turn them on or off. We use an old light copilot system and it works well fro down and dirty but nice looking lights.

Dangit! thanks guys, I'm just finally wrapping up getting my rig together with a new guitar w/Waldo buffer & OBEL, a new SMS preamp and waiting for an auction to end on a Mesa 50/50. Now you guys have me thinking about some new lights. Stop it!!

Dude, my Chauvet system was $400 and stupid simple to setup, control and breakdown.

Just for fun, we ordered two 3' x 10' mesh banners to hang behind us or in front of the PA speakers....

I have been thinking about this lately it is time to update the lights my ADJ Topaz broke I loved that light. I have 8 Par 36 hologens but they are a bit bright and use a ton of juice. I think I am going to buy 2 American DJ Micro Wash Led's they look pretty good they change colors and strobe, dim etc. I am going to put 2 Par 36's and 2 ADJ microwash's to start and see how that goes. I would like to get this topaz fixed if there is anyone in new york area that can do it let me know I think it's just a loose power connection to the bulb. Then I intend to add some moving Led washes but those get pricey

I just got these 4 micro wash RGBWs but was wondering if it is worth getting a foot controller and wich one to get anyone know anything about foot controllers ?
