now im not usually one to cry during a film...... thats all that needs to be said about this movie

Just watched this last night. Lots of cheese,but the real kicker was when the dad DIDN'T end up on tour after his first show. That's pretty unrealistic.

Was that first pic supposed to be winterland? ( tiger never in wland )

Just so we're clear, a) this is not a joke/spoof, and b) while the music of the movie centered around 60's music and most specifically, the Dead's music, this was not a movie about the Dead or 60's music. It's a movie about a kid who lost a lot of memory and the ability to remember new information due to a brain tumor, and music was used theraputically to help him. He had wanted to and never been to a Dead concert, and his father took him to one; thus the acting crew you have seen in these pics. The music played during the concert seen was clearly the Dead, not an attempt to reproduce them. The shots of the band during the movie were typically distant and brief. I actually thought the Bobby was the most "off". But it's a bgood movie, worth a see.....but not if you are looking for a GD bio-pic.

Way to ruin it for everyone who hasnt seen it yet ! I thought it was a movie about the 85 tour !

I heard really good things about this film....It's not about the Dead per say I believe. Based on a true story. The pic is funny....Phil is short....the guy who is supposed to be Bobby does play guitar...he was in Still Crazy...if you never saw that film, you must. Great shit.

dude I'm there with you...cried for the last 20 minutes....great,inspirational,sad....well worth the watch. Don't wan't to give too much away, but I would have filmed the Dead show different. It came off as a little cheesey. Didnt seem to match the quality of the rest of the film.

I would have tried to use real footage and made it an outdoor show with some lot flavor thrown in. Nice film though.

Yeah, it was a real tearjerker, but I knew that going in. My guess is that they couldn't get the rights to live footage, so they did the next best thing. Favorite part is the guy describing his feelings about hearing the Dead...

Not sure about that, though I don't know for sure. I did hear an interview with some band members, and they, apparently speaking for the band, were pretty on-board. The audio was definately genuine. I'm wondering if it just wasn't easier for them to get the shots they needed.
