I think you are a spammer. 2 posts, nothing to do with GD.

Prove me wrong. Shortly, I'll take appropriate action.

Strum, I think you are right too and I thought the same thing. However, I love latin music and after all Jerry is a GARCIA. And he did play with Santana and the dead do a spanish jam so it would be cool to explore that more.

And for me as I said before I am not at all looking to be a Jerry clone. I love the music but like to make it more jackr then anything else.

So to throw in some latin into some tunes would be great.

Kavinvkoda, lets hear how we can "latin" up some tunes, especially GD songs. For example talk to us about applying the Spanish scale or phrygian mode to particular tunes.

Lots of ii - V's and Latin beats would have....

Agree with this. Learning to play only on beats 2.5 and 4 for real Latin music was one of the hardest things I did in college... it's a whole different world.

When most folks use LATIN or HISPANIC they are most often referring to Central or South American origins.

Jerry Garcia, conversely, is the son of a Spaniard father. Different language, culture and music. And before anyone says how close they are or derived do you call rock tunes blues?

SOUND THE ALARM... TROLL... TROLL.

This guy is trying to distract us from our work with his country music and swarthy Latin shimmy... TROLL... TROLL...

Don't think so, but who wouldn't have wanted to play with those maraccas in her prime?!

Wouldda been great to have her on stage for a NYE show with the Blue's Brothers shakin it to Sugaree.

Jerry did get together with Carmen Miranda. He beat her up and stole her hat.
