I think he's using a Savage power amp -- the power section of their Glas 30, which is a boutique version of an AC-30 if I'm not mistaken -- and a couple of Vox cabs. Not sure about the preamp now, unless it's the Eleven exclusively.

I saw pics from RD in Jaimaica, he only had the 11rack and the Vox, but it looked like maybe a Fender as well?

PD, I spoke with the guys at Savage and he was using a special amp that was just the poweramp & speaker of their Glas 30.

I'd be interested in him just using the 11R. Gotta say I get great results in every room I've used it in and it's stupid simple.

However, Bobby also is shaping his tone by a lot of stuff in his rack so although the 11 could be his only guitar preamp he does have other preamp type tools in there and tone shapers and EQ'ers.

For example, he plugs into the back of the 11. The back input requires a -10/+4 level so we know already the guitar needs a boost.

And we know he uses Brad's "Black box" which only returns unity (not enough to feed the 11) but it also has a gain stage so sorta pre-ampy.

And then there is the Avalon single strip pre/eq/comp.

My personal theory is he is going: wireless > Sarno BB > Avalon > 11 > feed 1 (FX & preamp mod) to Savage || feed 2 (full modeled) to FOH

The real question is, what's JK using as a preamp? His Super 60 is absent and he's playing through a 2X12 with what looks like E120s.

I've asked Butch, the photographer who shot those photos, to take some rack closeups for us tonight. Cross your fingers.
He was using a H&K preamp and a Vestax 500w power amp and stomps for the last few DSO shows.
H&K BluesMaster. JK was raving about it to me about a year and a half ago. The Vestax is a newer acquisition.

has anyone used one of these Vestax power amps?? was just wondering. the only model i have seen was used by a dj. does it sound any good?

That's interesting! He's got two of the Ritters, both black, one shiny, one matte finish. I wonder what made him pick up the old faithful?

Got to meet Bob tonite and check out the rig. AJ walked me thru the signal path:

3 guitars with wireless receivers all patched into a Lehle 3-1 switcher
Lehle output to the Steel Guitar Black Box (SGBB parked under the rack behind Lehle switcher)
Then into the Digi Eleven for amp modeling (still mono)
Then into the Avalon for some compression (maybe some EQ too)
Then into the TC Effects unit for stereo verb, delay, modulation, and other stuff - that's where it all turns stereo
TC stereo output to two DI's -
DI's split off to Savage to power two speaker cab's (unmiked, just for stage sound)
DI stereo output to the house -

I think that IS the TC G-Force that turns the mono signal into the wet/wide effected signal.

Yes, it is the G-Force that he uses

The ES-335 is the same one he played in the Grateful Dead movie. Not sure of the year, but I know he'd switched to that one after going between the 345 and the SG that he couldn't keep in tune.
