When it doesn't fit anywhere else

I'm willing to bet most of us have bought at least one shirt in the lots. What was your favorite? What was the best shirt you've seen someone else wearing?

My fave: a sketch of Bobby with child-printing-esque font underneath saying "Bobby fans are people too!"
Best I've seen someone else wear: a clearly well-worn "Bass Great, Lesh Philling!"

I'm headed to both Spectrum shows and have been thinking about updating the latter shirt to reflect Phil's (hideous/beautiful) new bass and getting it printed up. Just a one-off for my own personal use.

Then today I also thought it would be cool to print up a softball t-shirt that said "Spectrum Demolition Team" with "Samson 09" on the back. Might consider printing up a bunch of these. (Maybe even some "Delilah 09" baby tees for the ladies!)

Thoughts?

My Favorite shirt was a Black Tee with a big Rosebud from Jer's guitar on the front. I still have it but is too worn to wear. I'd give my left nut to find a reprint of this shirt. Anyway, I think I got it at a JGB show at the Cap Centre around '91.

That's a great idea for a shirt. If you make em, I'll buy one off you in Philly.
As for the best T ever.....that's a hard question as I bought a few cool shirts over the years. Maybe my all time favorite was by a guy named Phillip Brown. He still sells shirts and even has a website/business

http://www.phillipbrowndesigns.com/

I had Merlin's wheel on one side and a lotus design on the other side. The dye job itself was spectacular let alone the silkscreen. It was $15 and I bought it in 85 at Merriweather. All my buddies thought I paid way too much...I can still wear it today---though, it's seriously worn.
Maybe I'll break it out for this tour.

My favorite one that I bought was a simple white T-Shirt that looked like it had the DD logo on the front. Like this except without the cup:

Except, it actually read:

FUNKIN
GO NUTS

The looks I used to get in the supermarket from women pushing their carts along were priceless.

Emoto, I remember that shirt! I think I saw it at a couple of Phish shows. In the same vein, I remember seeing a "Morning Dew" shirt based on the "Mountain Dew" design at Further Festivals years ago - another great one.

So I've got to decide in the next few days as to whether or not I'm going to get any shirts printed up. Don't want to order a ton of shirts and be stuck with surplus, but at the same time, I don't want to order so few that the price is ridiculously high for a parking lot shirt.

Would anyone spend $20 on a ringer tee? I know I've spent $10/$15 on shirts in the past.

(mttourpro, if I get them printed, I'll PM you my cell phone number so we can meet up in the lots)

mt - I clicked on the link, but it didn't work. The Merlin Wheel/Lotus seems like a prett cool combo. And tie-dying is far beyond me...I did it once and the shirt came out alright, but I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay for my handiwork! And I'm leaving the silkscreening for the shirts to the professionals on this one...

jlg---I just tried the link and it worked fine for me.....?? I reposted it below.

Anyway, if you do print up the Spectrum shirts, I'll definitely buy one from you.
As for price, if you can keep it under 15 you'll do a lot better.

MT - for some reason when I left click the link, it doesn't work. But if I right click and open it in a new window, presto, there it is!

He's got some great stuff. Definitely takes pride in what he does and it looks like he's using good quality shirts to begin with.

I'm going ahead with two Spectrum designs as well as a handful of modified "Bass Great" and "L*E*S*H" shirts. I was thinking of only ordering Larges, so if you want a M or XL, let me know, and I'll change the order to include one for each Spectrum design.

Checked out Cause's website, you guys sound great! I got a kick out of the TourPro clause...still holding fast to it?

IMHO the best shirt was the rasta with a chilum on front, and on the back it had a sick nug that said DANK. its my boys design and will soon be available. look for the blankets in greensville we take credit cards (sorry) but if you do shirts quality is the most important thing
oh yea, you definently want some XL with you

Oh, yes! I remember those Morning Dew shirts, too!

I'd be really interested in either an M or L of those shirts, especially the L*E*S*H. (but I'd like to see the Bass Great, too)

I would definitely want an XL and would agree with KK that you should have XLs....matter of fact, I'd make no mediums as they typically will not sell well. Most people want XLs or Ls cause no matter how good the shirt is it'll shrink some.

As for the "Tourpro Clause", absolutely. It's a must to have AT LEASTone big tune that opens the tripping doors in each set.

FYI---I think there's gonna be an attempted meet up of some musicians in the lot at the spectrum at around 3pm in D2 of the lot on Friday.
I'm gonna try to be there. If not, I'll look for your shirts while I'm there.

Order placed! Thanks for all the input. I ordered a couple M's and XL's for each design to accomodate.

MT - Do you know if that is the reserved parking lot? I'm going with three friends, and was just discussing the option of purchasing reserved parking with them today. [Out of curiousity - so you have the massive jam song in the first set...but none in the second? Or is this merely to complement the second set jam?]

Krzykat - sounds like a cool shirt. Is it pathetic that I had no idea what a Chilum was? Such is the life a a non-smoker. But thank you wikipedia!

Rusty - the L*E*S*H will be on a camo tee. I've ordered M's, L's, and XL's of it. I changed the "Bass Great" to "Tape's Grate! Lesh Phil-ing!" (all spelling intentional) and instead of including a picture of the new bass, I included a cassette tape (even though Fender just lost its case with respect to body shape, I want to avoid any possible problems in case Ritter is pursuing protection of its "Jupiter" body style through copyright, trademark, or design patent).

Once they've arrived, I'll try to post some pics. They should be here in about two weeks.

on the front it said Cosmic Charlie, below that it was the Peanuts gand all hanging out looking up and apparently tripping, looking at cosmic swirls...
