I'm putting some feelers out to gauge any interest in Baltic birch 2X12 speaker cabs.
3/4" box w/ handles
speakon jack
heavy duty rubber feet
1/2 BBply protective cover
The cabinet would include a 5ft 1/4" to speakon cable. Speaker choice would be entirely up to the buyer. Please PM me for price, pictures or any other questions you might have. regards ~MJH

Do you have specs on Jerry's cabinets, so that you can say how close what you'd build would be? The amount of air and venting have a large effect on sound from closed cabinets, right? Also, what kind of pricing are you talking about?

They are the exact same size as the the Hardtrucker cab. They sound great and are 1/3 the cost. .~MJH

Ok, Lets start over.
15" wide
29" tall
13" deep.
glued and screwed rabbet joints
BBply cover held in place w/ magnets
1.5" rubber feet
steel inset handles

The cabs are not closed back.

Yes, closed back and open back speaker cabs sound different. Aside from tighter bass w/ a closed back cab I wouldn't know where to begin to be able to quantify the differences.

good call on the asking about the clips...the clips are a big part of this and cost me about a 1/3 of the cost of the cabinet when i built mine.

here are the clips on mine..they were custom made and cost me almost 80 bucks for 8 of them! They work GREAT though, Hold the speakers in perfectly and can be unscrewed with a hex key in no time.

I don't do the clips as per HT. Like an earlier poster said, too costly. They are hard to find to boot. I could have them made and pass the cost onto the buyer. They just aren't worth it. I never got the notion of their convenience anyway. What's the difference between unscrewing them and unscrewing bolts from a speaker frame? A few more turns of the wrist? Unfortunatly i've found that is a stumbling block for a lot of people.
