When it doesn't fit anywhere else

Well I was just waiting for my nephews bus with him a few minutes ago and I was sitting there playing the guitar on the steps. It's the first time I've taken the guitar out to the front of my house and played. So technically it was my first time playing in public...and I gotta say it was quite the experience. I was playing songs I really love to play and I kinda feel more of a kindred spirit for performers up on a stage in front of big crowds of people even though there weren't any in front of me. Doin' what you love and bein' free...it's exciting!

i must agree, nothing beats playing outside, anytime a day. i got an out door electrical outlet so when i'm feeling super motivated can i set up the electric outisde and have a blast. The only problem is when its warm outside my hands sweat profusely all over my guitars so i'll usually wait until the evening when it cools off and is hella nice

dude take an acoustic to a rural area, sit down next to a river, make a scene with some green and let it flow bro!

I gotta agree, nothing like playing music out in the country. By a river, under a tree, on a rock, with green, without, it's all good....

I couldnt agree more with this comment, LOVE playing outside. Last weekend, me and some buddies went up to Candler Park here in Atlanta and really made a scene haha

Brought a bunch of drums and guitars, had a couple kids dancin around us,onlookers, and the frisbee going all over the place, overall great time

cant wait to get back out to the park today, unfortunately its only 50 here :(

I live on a lake here in New Hampshire. It's alway fun to play out on the deck and watch the boats pull up and hearing the applauses. We've played on the beach a couple times too and that's always fun. Huge bomb fire and people having a good ole time. I love playing outside.

Yeah - I've spent a bit of time playing by a river, ocean or lake in the woods - somewhere where there's nobody but you & the world. That's a good feeling.

Once - I was playing in CO by a little river and I noticed this little bird on a rock sticking out of the water. It was kinda boppin' up & down as if to the music (it wasn't - but it was pretty funny) - anyhow, it kept boppin' up and down and hopping to the next rock & so on until it eventually worked it's way up the river boppin' the whole way along. I'd like to think it was a good day for both me AND the bird! 8)

ahh yeaaa, summers rolling in and its time to start bringin the acoustics outside again.

some of the best jams have been around a campfire on the beach, in the woods, backyards, wherever. so good to have that fresh air, maybe some whiskey to keep you warm and a joint to spark the imagination. add friends and other musicians and theres a party. :D

its awesome when you can meet new people doing it too, usually get some like-minded folk to come by and say Hi, sing/play some songs, offer up some buds, whatever.

All I can say, is there is nothing better than pickn' some bluegrass outside.

My guitar player and mando player got out last weekend and just had a day of pickn'. We have some people stop and tap there foot.(and honestly I have to admit that’s better than someone telling you that your playing good).

If I can get someone I don’t know tapping their foot, or bobbing their head that’s all I need in life. Making people happy through music. (Bluegrass particularly)

Pick on!

I am a complete idiot for not playing outside more, I put in a new brick paver patio, and I think I've played outside on it once. pathetic! Thinks for the inspiration guys!

I can't wait til it warms up here so I can resume playing outside. We got a bunch of snow last night. Tha Pranksters are playing at this antique car road race in Pueblo in May. I think the stage is going to be a flatbed truck. Talk about flashbacks! Anyhow, playing outside is the absolute bast. Our view will be the Rockies!

Peace,

Gil

The sound is so great outside, it makes me feel like I am much better than I actually am!. In college I used to carry my acoustic to this little bit of woods on campus and sit by myself by the lake and play. On my honeymoon, I often sat outside on this cliff in Hawaii and played while the breakers rolled in below...it's where I learned Touch of Grey and playing that song still carries me back. I spend much of the summer sitting on front/back porch playing while the kids play in the driveway or on the lawn/deck. It's the only way to go!
