It gets my vote for best version of US Blues, maybe the best encore of all. Of course there is always baby blue 9/10/91 and others that are great.

Any other encores rank up there?

Yes that was good but I was at the show and dont remember the show itself being that great. As far as that being the best version, they played US Blues for an encore an awful lot during that era so it would be hard to say.

For me, I think I still like a good Brokedown Palace for an encore.

"Eyes of the World", 6-26-74. "Franklin's Tower",
6-11-76.

not too often that probably the best version of a song is done as an encore

Gotta love that above version...

Things go better with Coke.
It's the real thing.
Coke adds life.
Have a Coke and a smile.

That's obvious,

 Holy cocaine, Batman! The ENTIRE BAND. That is nowhere NEAR the best version of that song I've ever heard, nor is it anywhere CLOSE to being the best encore - of course all IMO.

Most ENERGY I've ever seen from Jerry & the boys, but it's a VERY sloppy version of the song. The drummers are all over the place, out of sync and Jerry is pounding away on his guitar with the touch of a crystal-methed-out monkey masturbating.

MY favorite encore was "And We Bid You Goodnight," or "Brokedown Palace." The "Attics Of My Life" bust out in Hampton 89 is up there, as well.

US Blues & Baby Blue were done to death. Gimme the above mentioned ones, or a killer out-of-nowhere rocker, like the afforementioned Red Rocks encore, ANYDAY.

the 12/31/1981 show is kinda all over the place, it seems the boys only connected in certain spots over the show, but still a good listen

i posted this on the us blues youtube comment section, but i think i'll add it here.

i've read(or heard, can't remember) that the reason the band was playing so enthusiastically and aggressively during that 4-12-78 show was because of a dispute with the venue's management. the venue's management left the house lights on for the entire show to discourage pot smoking. well, the band thought this was a disservice to the paying audience and would detract from the enjoyment of the show so they played all crazy like to try and get the crowd to go nuts, have a good time and make up for anything that detracted from the lights being on.

i don't know? maybe i'm wrong. someone correct me if so. sounds reasonable. or it could just be the boog sug
