Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow.

One of my favorite songs is on this, called "Comin' back to Me" and it's been written that the music was by Jerry, but what's interesting about that is that the song is in Open E and I've never known Jer to play in alternative tunings.

Also, I had that Thomas Dolby cd, but never could get into it too much, other than Jerry's playing on it. Maybe I'll give it another listen.

one of my fav appearances is on a Thomas Dolby album in the nineties, great solo and tone, how he got on it...I don't know, and ofcourse Ornette Coleman's album from the nineties,can't think of the names of either

another great 90's solo by Jerry is on Bruce Hornsby's Across the River. I think that might be his best electric guitar studio recorded solo

I think Jerry also appears on a not widely heard record by Paul Pena, a bluesman who got a 2nd chance when his record from like the early 70's was finally released a few years back, something like that. The album is called New Train, and oh yeah, he was also the guy who wrote Jet Airliner which Steve Miller turned into a big hit. Pretty decent stuff if anyone's interested, and it has Jerry on a few track, so you can't lose.

I was waiting for someone to jump all over that. Though it does sound like him and he has a link to Brickell. tmaslak gets points for trying to tie together circumstantial evidence but none for roll up your sleeves research.

a friend of mine worked for dolby making ring tones. he also was dolby's assistant on the tour dolby did last year.

I asked him about dolby's connection to the dead. he told me that dolby is/was a head. and I believe he and Phil became friends when phil was experimenting with all that electro noise stuff.

this is 2nd hand info so take from it what you will.
