no hendrix no trey, or anyone in hard rock reallyI think clapton, chris simmons, alvin lee, jeff beck,and jimmy page were doing pretty much the same heavy metal blues thing at the same time as Jimi. They were all taking the muddy waters/ robert johnson thing and playing it loud and distorted for a new white audience. No Jimi then maybe no Stevie Ray Vaughn but hard rock started with Black Sabath and Alice Cooper and outside of the use of heavy distortion I don't wee any Hendrix influnce in their music.
