w/o spending a whole lot of time on it it seems predominately G major pentatonic in what amounts to the open A position on the 12th fret.

bending the 2 to near the three (14 on the G) then hit the five (12 on the e).

You're right - it is pretty much a staple among many guitarists

That IS a great video, thanks for posting, and Bill nailed it, it is a pretty standard guitar lick. I was messing around with it, landing on both the D & the G (back and forth, not saying this is how Jerry did it, but it's one way, anyways):
