May I add, I'm not oblivious to the fact that a person may experience a hardship that prevents one from keeping his obligation/commitment. This may justify an explanation, apology, or excuse. It never, unless you're dead or on life support, justifies ghosting the person to whom you're obligated or committed.

Thanks!
Nothing has changed, same false promises from Robert Rusch.

I think I last spoke with him in October when he sent photos of "my" guitar and then went silent.

Sorry for taking over a year to reply, lol

I just went through a similar 3 year process but not a guitar. Guys life got complicated. I have to believe drinking was the primary issue which resulted in divorce, loss of home, multiple legal issues etc. I was patient and regularly asked for progress reports. Sometimes I got them but I think they were all made up. I started documenting the whole process along with going back in my history and saving all the communication in one file. Eventually, I sent a short, to the point email stating the facts of the situation. Never accused him or called him names but I did say that if we could not find resolution by a set date that I was going to pursue other avenues of resolution. If he didn't respond then I was going to send it via registered mail. He did email me back acknowledging the deadline. Personally, I was willing to drive 10 hours to WV to appear personally in small claims court. I was also willing to call the local law enforcement, who I knew couldn't do anything, but I was curious if they knew him and what he was doing and possibly give me some advice. The ultimatum worked. He failed to meet the deadline but a follow up email a couple days later did see success. I would give a deadline that is reasonable to meet. Just my 2 cents. I can't believe that he isn't following this thread. Don't be aggressive. Be assertive.

Curious if others here have had Rusch build a Jerry Guitar and how long it took?
Hi again. I replied to your PM with a long and detailed reply but I'm concerned because, in the past, this website's ancient software has thrown my PMs into a black hole. So, if you don't receive my reply by tomorrow (Saturday), let me know that here and we'll figure out what to do instead.

PM’s on this forum are very hit and miss. Use email.

While I appreciate your suggestion, the problem with this approach is under no circumstance would I post my personal email in a public thread - not with all the bots and scammers these days.

I appreciate and thank you!

I will check in the AM tomorrow (nothing crossed yet), worse case scenario is it cool to PM/DM my email?

Yes, that'll work, too.

Any news. For some sad reason I still feel like someday I am going to come home and there she will be standing in all her glory my full on Wolf Tribute. I guess it is just hard for me to move on and accept. There really isn’t anything anyone can do. I got screwed. I am going to let the healing begin.

Once in a while, for the show to continue, you’ve got to take a step back.

Aren't mixed metaphors fun (or should that be mixed allusions?)?!

Saw this thread still has legs. I’m sorry for the folks who lost or might possibly lose out on their time and $. That’s a really shitty situation to be in.

That said, I want to +1000 the others here who have recommended Bob Fishman. If anyone is considering having a custom build done, I cannot encourage you to contact Bob enough. Great guy, and an INCREDIBLE luthier who charges a fraction of what some of the others are nowadays.

Nope, I have about as much faith of Robert Rusch pulling through as I do at my chances of winning the lottery.

Robert has lied to me since 2019, why would he change in 2026?
