Hey now!

I'm wondering if anyone has solid info on how Dan Healy EQ'd Jerry's guitar (circa late-80s) in the front of house PA?
Ive been searching around on the web and in these forums, but cant really find anything.

Thanks in advance!

You will read that Healy didn't alter sound from the stage except to clean it up -

HOWEVER, there is a notable flange on 1988 Bird Songs for instance - so there is a good bit of mystery there

Fairly well documented that Healy did not believe in EQ (other than balancing the entire system for the room it was in) or compression. He did use high pass filters to get rid of bottom mud on various channels but that would not be likely on Jerry's guitar.

Whether or not there was any sort of multiband compression or soft limiting on the entire mix is another question, since what you hear on the soundboards is the final stereo mix of the band.
