Thinking about converting a 2 HB guitar to 3 with buffer and whatnot.

Edit for clarification: I'm looking for someone to do body routing, drilling, installation, etc.

If you do not yet own the guitar you are seeking to modify you may want to consider doing this to a guitar that had the same scale length as Jerry's commonly emulated guitar / tones. Tiger, Wolf, and Rosebud were all based upon a Fender 25.5" scale. This makes a bigger difference than most anticipate. Scale impacts pickup placement. Jerry's Travis Bean was different as was the occasional early flirtation with Gibson guitars. If you modify the PRS you will be able to get close - certainly all the effect driven tones can be achieved within reason. Those clean snappy tones you may want are hard to get without that Fender Scale Length. Just some food for thought.

Yep, I'm aware. The 25" scale just works for me, though, and I think it will have enough snap with the split Super 2.

One thought if using a 25.5-ish" scale is getting a Treble Booster.

I have this Analogman Beano Boost and it works amazingly well at helping to get some added snap with shorter scale length guitars and non-Jerry guitars in general. I have it on a low setting around 10:00 and it works great where it's a small boost that takes away some frequencies without adding gain when it's that low.

Anyway, just an idea that works for me.

Do you own a router? If so, have at it. Buy a template for a humbucker. It’s really not that complicated. There are plenty of YouTube videos to help you along.

I appreciate your faith in me, but, I’m not looking to test my skills on my guitar.

I’m really asking who is doing this kind of work.

Routing is not rocket science. If you have the right template, it’s actually quite easy to get good professional-looking results. I can certainly understand your trepidation to taking power tools to your guitar. Just practice first on a scrap piece of wood. After a few tries, you’ll most likely feel confident enough to rout your guitar.

this guy has LOTS of material that can help you, including a buffer 1:1 recreation. I bet if you contact him he can also help you more directly
Thanks. I'm looking for someone who can do the routing for a 3rd PU, and install, etc.
yes, that's exactly what he did with his prs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2-Rqi3UJRo

Yes, this is what I'd like to do. Do you know if he works on other people's guitars?
