Fuck it, I'm going to post this here.

It's that Don't Let Go from Portland fall of 1984, I was telling folks about.

To make my case - I'm pretty sure Garcia engages his OD-2, which I also think is a tremendous pedal (thanks Brad for your thoughts).

It's set up so you folks can download it if you like. It's worth more than one listen.

I saw 3 shows on that tour. Hult Centre, Parmount Theatre and the Starry Night. The other two shows sucked. But this one, well, it was off the charts. The band set up on the floor. There was no stage. School night, and apparently all the good deadhead boys and girls were at home getting there sleep for class the next day. I wasn't. Mr and my buddy hooked up with a pile of bikers and well, lets just say we were well set at this show.

Wasn't he still using the MXR+ distortion in '84? Definitely distortion and I think humbucker mode as well.

I'll add to my own prior post. This is also most likely tone knob on guitar rolled back at points. If anybody disagrees, please speak up. But I think I get closest to this tone in humbucker mode, tone rolled back and then distortion as needed.

Yea, that is definitely the tone, about 4:47 he rolls the tone back a bit 4:58-5:01, he trims some more. By 6:02 he has turned the knob more . If you listen closely between 6:04-and 6:05 you can actually hear the tone at max cut on the E at the 14th fret of the D string. Then at about at the 8:30 on the bend from A to B at the 10th fret B string he opens it up some. By 8:59 he is back with the tone the other way. I think some where about 9:16 he changes to the neck pickup for the 9th chord riffing . That is what I could pick up on a first listen. Then again I could be wrong. Killer version thanks for putting it out there. I will definitely add it on jams I must transcribe list.
