Agree. A Gibson style nut should be closer than a Fender style, but it's not likely that an off-the-shelf nut will drop right in without some fitting. If you can't do it yourself you should be able to buy one and have a local luthier fit it for you for a reasonable fee.
I made a few myself starting with a brass blank, but you really need a set of slot files to do it right. Not to mention the experience factor- by the third time you should be close...
