B.I.R. Best Instrument Rentals offers a Phil Lesh rig that you can rent.

Two Eden World Tour amps, Meyer CP-10 Parametric EQ, Korg DTR-2000 Rackmount Digital Tuner, and a Power Conditioner.

Would you ever rent this?

Personally, probably not. I can get plenty of stage volume with my current rig and it can also easily fill a medium-sized club by itself. And it's always right there in my car, it never comes in the house.

Probably would cost alot of bread as well. Thats a rig for playing Madison Square Garden. I have the Eden D410XLT8 with a D210XST8 for larger clubs....all pushed by a WT550B which is plenty. I may get a WT800C someday. Probably an Avalon U5 first.

They probably have all the gear on hand, and it's normally rented out separately to guys who come to town and just need a good Eden rig.

It's a pretty smart idea to offer it as a package, it'd take somebody just a few minutes to put it all together.

Maybe Phil actually rented that gear for east coast shows or something and they kept it together like that. I just saw the picture and the caption says "Phil Lesh and friends, Nokia Theatre."

No, but Phil did for the Nokia shows.

Phil rented a Phil Lesh rig, that's interesting!
@BassMan - If I was playing MSG I would hope by then I would have my own Phil rig and not have to rent this one!

He may have. Especially if it was a long run at the Nokia. It is cheaper than flying it from California. If they were trucking across the country on a tour, it would make sense for him to bring his own.

Were is Nokia?
I'm not saying that he didn't rent the gear, I'm just saying that now they only play in the US. So the trucks haul his stuff around.

Seriously, Phil probably did rent that rig. It's pretty common to rent gear, actually. Amps mostly, never guitars or basses. One Eden World Tour amp sounds just like another.

Melvin Seals, for example, owns several B3s but typically rents one wherever he goes. That's a lot of weight to truck across the country and diesel fuel isn't cheap anymore.

Not if he is making a logical tour with points across the US. But if he is flying out from Cali to do a 6 night run in NYC, a 5 night run in Boston, and where ever else, it makes sense to rent the amp.
