Jerry's part

I am struggling with getting that "Latin flavor" in Jerry's part. It's in D but just can't get the right notes. Same problem with Dylan's "Romance in Durango" and a couple of others. Any suggestions? Is there a mode or scale that lends itself to Cowboy/Spanish tunes?

I just use a straight D major - ionian mode - works great for el paso in my opinion.

Yeah, that's what I have been using but it is leaving me...unsatisfied. I thought maybe someone had a different way to look at it. Thanks for the feedback!

I would say you just have to keep playing along with a version that you like untill it falls into place for you.
'Not sure if this will help you, but I think of it as being quite similar to the descending Ionian runs Jerry does in Eyes.

Thanks but that is the problem. It sounds to much like other jams in D. I thought maybe I was missing a note or two to give it that west Texas flair. The journey continues...
