Eric, AKA, Professor Sirulnik, was my criminal law professor while a law student at George Washington University's National Law Center in the early 80's. Sirulnik represented NORML in their suit versus the U.S. State Department on paying Mexico to use paraquat, well known to damage farmers' and smokers' lungs severely, to kill the pot fields. If you were on the BOD at the time, I'd thought you'd know him or know of him. He was one of my favorite professors, a skilled teacher, litigator, and (in contrast to most of the rest of the law professors at the time) a regular guy.

The paraquat stuff happened during the Carter administration, in NORML’s early days. It pissed off NORML’s founder Keith Stroup so much that he dropped a dime on Carter’s physician and White House medical advisor, Peter Bourne, for being present while cocaine was being used at a NORML party. This led to a scandal with Bourne resigning, Carter being so embarrassed that he completely pulled back from his efforts to decriminalize, and Stroup being thrown out of NORML for being a rat. I didn’t get involved with NORML until the late 80s.

Sorry for the derailment. We will now return you to your regularly scheduled thread. Cocaine > wired > wiring diagrams!
