Bass sounds great! I'm impressed with the recording too.

You get a good Phil sound - especially that little run right at the end - can I ask about your rig? Strings? Pick? Don't mean to be nosey, it's just that there are very few posts here in the bass section since I joined!

Thanks man,
No problem...Pyramid Gold Flats. Telefunken Triangle (1.6 mm) graphite pic. I use a Alembic Sf-2 superfilter with a Markbass SD1200 head....which has tons of power. My cabs are from a builder in New Hampshire...David Luke of Revsound

...that gig I used a 410T(8 ohms) cab daisy chained with a 112T(8 ohms).

Nice! I use the Telefunken graphite picks too - also the Adamas - depends on the bass and approach I'm going for. I've never tried Pyramids - mostly LaBella flats on my shorties, but I'm not going for a Phil sound myself.

Do you guys have your own soundman? I'm really impressed with the mix.

Thank you very much Rusty.

I used to use an Eden WT800C, I liked it a lot, especially the enhance knob.....but I didn't like the way it clipped in various setting. I do not have that problem with the Markbass.
I have used the Alembic Fx-1 preamp with a power amp before also, but never really worked for me...or I just never was able to dial in "the tone".

Nice Playing!

Those DeArmond Starfires were the most underrated basses around when they were being produced.
Fred Hammon and now Curtis Novak really made them shine!

This also reminds me why I wan't an Alembic SF2!
