I actually inquired to Eastwood as to if they had any plans to make a cowboy Fancy and they said no.

That's strange...I swear about 3 months ago Eastwood had a version of the Cowboy Fancy on their website. It went through the whole fundraising thing...maybe not enough people put deposits down??

Interesting, I know they did a version of the regular production Ibanez Bob Weir model. Could it have been that one?

Phred is making an Ace, “inspired by Cowboy Fancy”, which will cost $789. You can get info and sign up to be notified when they go on sale here:

Yes, it seems that's the only option for now. Though I feel Eastwood could make one of higher quality.

You are absolutely correct...I got an email from Eastwood this week. Here is the "BW Artist"

Just goes to show my lack of knowledge! :)

That one isn’t the Bob Weir model. The Weir model was the Professional 2680 (without Tree of Life inlay), and the 2681 (with Tree of Life). The 2680 usually goes for $1000-$1200. It’s a heavy guitar with a big baseball bat neck. I lusted after one for years, got one, and wound up selling it. Cowboy Fancy is an altogether different guitar.

The Ibanez Bill mentions above is a great guitar. Great pickups if they are the originals. That said I think I paid $ 250 dollars for the 76' Artist I used to own back in 1993. A long time ago. $ 2500 is someone who must not want to see it go as I do not see that as being market for that guitar. Super playable guitar. Friend of mine still plays the one I mention above.

I'll be in Italy in September. If this one's still around then (which I highly doubt!) maybe I'll hand-carry it back.

Here's another one that's closer but also more coin.

Both of those are WAY overpriced, IMHO. And always look carefully at the top of the headstock on these. They are notorious for the two floating tips to break off and require repair.

By far this guitar will have the most controls of any of mine.
