I don’ think it’s a bad idea, at all, just haven’t tried it so didn’t comment. The only downsides I can imagine are 1) The brush might have metal as part of the handle that you’ll want to be careful not to scratch any guitar components with, and 2) A low quality brush might shed hairs that could slip into tight spaces.

I’d still imagine a detailing brush, that’s designed for cleaning tight spaces and delicate components, would be more safe and effective.
