As with any of this it's all how we hear it but it should be noted that Phil really and purposefully drags the "1" on Playin... It's what gives it that rocket ship rubber band ride feel. He is always a micro second ahead of or behind the beat particularly on any root notes... On those 74' Playin's it's Kreutzmann that is the clock... Phil seems to do whatever he can to shake him. It's like they are chasing each other!
I do the bass role in several GD projects so I really dig this stuff in earnest.
