We had the opportunity to do an acoustic show for a fundraiser for this cool community school that I have done some history work with one of their students. We used to do a lot of acoustic gigs but they have been few and far between in the last 10 years or so. I like the stripped down sound, no effects, no amps, just the sound of instruments. I really dig my Dell'Arte guitar for Dead music. It's kind of a beast to play with the 26.5" neck scale but it's loud and punchy. I also dig Rick's drum box thingy (I think that's the technical term for it).



There's two non-Dead tunes we did near the beginning that I really love playing and think both fit in well with the Dead stuff. The first is Railroad Worksong I got from Mark Knopfler's Notting Hillbillies record - I think it's an old Leadbelly tune. The second is When Ye Go Away a tune by the Waterboys from the late 80s.
