Lemme think...I think the only time I've heard it is on an AOXOMOXOA recording. but I think that was just a jam version (no lyrics). But you prolly knew that....

actually, the versions i've heard had lyrics, i can send someone a copy of the 68 show i've got if they can tab it out, or if they just want to hear this beautiful song, peace, michael

ps. its lyrics go something like: chopped olive sandwiches, sweet roses and wine, ..................my sweet clemtine,

Hey Man - Clementine is on SO MANY ROADS - Disc 1 - 3nd to last song
C maj7 - Bm7

"Clementine"
Words by Robert Hunter; music by Phil Lesh
Copyright Ice Nine Publishing; used by permission
Thanks to Alex Allan, Brad Dilli, Melanie Ryan, Jeff Lester and Ihor Slabicky for help with the lyrics.

Chocolate sandwiches, roses [of?] wine
Red ripe persimmons, my sweet Clementine
I go on, I go on, I can't fill my cup
There's a hole in the bottom, the well has dried up

I run through the forest, I cut past the vine
Head through the thickets, many a time
Octave of voices, sweet voices belie
I live [left for?] for the comfort of cold Clementine

It's definitely not CMaj7, Bm7
I've been messing around with this jam a little and the closest I'm finding is Am, Gmaj7/B . Theres sliding ups into the chords sometimes on bobs part I guess and maybe some toggling Am Am7 . It's like really hard to make a Gmaj7/B but regular Gmaj7 doesn't sound right. Theres a part Jerry does where he goes back and forth beteen an A note and E note on the chord change with a little climb EFF# to A and so back down, like a B blues scale, so that's gotta point to something. Phill composed this song working with Hunter, so like it sounds like a 2 chord progression the whole time but I'm not surprised it's confusing especially with Garcia melting your face off over the top of it.
I don't know if this is all right so lmk if anyone has comments cuz clementine is one of my favorite jams to listen to nowadays

I always wanted to transcribe this. Maybe I'll try but in terms of what Garcia is doing, it is not much different than the habits he shown in the early Dark Stars
