Yeah, that's how I've been running it. The A/B test I did was with the Mesa's preamp. Using the effects loop of the Mesa requires turning the output of the SMS down pretty low (I've got mine around 3) since it's a pretty hot signal coming out.JonnyBoy wrote:Wouldn't that be the way you would have to run the SMS to get the pure SMS channel? Live, you'd need to disconnect the SMS from the loop to use the Mesa and that could be a little tricky. I've got a Mark IV 1x12 combo and a Mark III head with a half open cab. I wish I had a smaller 2x12 cab 'cause the Mesa is huge easily the size of most 4x12s.
