that rubber gasket is not needed, but is made to be used in a front loaded cab, ala jerry's, inbetween the speaker frame and cab. on a rear loaded cab the cork gasket is utilized.

I also got some rubber gaskets with my speakers and thought that was what they were for. They seem very breakable and when I tried to affix one of them I feared it would snap, so they sit in the box. Also, when I got the last "near new" JBL it seemed like there was something inside of the magnet, cloth like if you look through the mesh on the sticker label side you could see it floating around in there! This scared me at first and I almost returned it but it sounds fine and seems not to affect the speaker at all?

Dudes! I got my E-120's today! They are awesome...and heavy. I'm certainly no expert, but they appear to be original and unused. Now...to save money for a cab and learn to play a guitar. 8)

Not bad a find at all - take it from someone who also accidentally pulled the bay trigger last week – transposed the 10’s and 100’s place of my bids – now the proud owner of a SG Special. Feeling kind of worried, but some things are meant to be, hopefully this is one of them. Hopefully yours arrive in good condtion...keep us posted.

Very nice rare find! The pair I bought new in 2002 were about $250 each. What a score!

I know this is an old thread, but what are the thoughts around speaker gaskets for a front loaded speaker? Do you guys use them or not? Does it make any difference in the sound (I know, but I have to ask :))?
