Try working in some chromatics and experiment with the major 3rd within your blues lick phrasing. Hammer to the maj 3rd. from the flat third while presenting a phrase. You can within the very next phrase present the flat third. This may seem somewhat disjointed at first but as long as the two phrases have some cohesion they can be placed one right after the other with the result being a varied sound as well as taking the lead into a different place.

You're young so this is understandable so you'll move through this with experience.
The goal is to be true to the art, as the art is the thing, and not the person performing it.
