There are some differences between the AB763 Fender schematic and the Bassman 70, but why not try it out? The worst that can happen is that you then decide to get an SMS or some other preamp.

I would use the second channel, as it has the bright switch and seems set up for more of a standard Fender amp schematic. JBL speakers will help a lot as they will be cleaner and crisper sounding than what you've got. Beyond that, I'm sure that Jerry would still sound like Jerry if he played your rig. It's not all that far off.
