Man, if you can afford to, I have a good buddy that went in a different direction, and he still wishes he kept it. It's the best fender preamp circuit you can get. Swears its better than some of his fine Fender classic amps he owns. Find the power section that will give you the tone you're after, like a Mesa or plug into an effects return of any other tube amp.

But if you gotta, you gotta.

I have been using mine to amplify a National resolectric which has some tonal similarities to a banjo. Sounds great for that. I noticed banjo was part of you handle...
