There might be a problem with the line spiltter I built from Waldos site. I used a Carling SDPT footswitch in place of the toggle and the bypassed output still has a very faint signal. Barley audiable through an amp on 10. Is this normal or is there such thing as a leakey bad switch?

I had the same exact problem with the first one I made too. It needs a ground to a DPDT foot switch or toggle switch like this diagram. Just add the grounds connecting all the in put jack grounds to each other.

Here are some photos of one I built following that diagram. No signal at all passes through to the other out put.

Nice fix hippieguy! I will borrow the layout and redraw mine, thanks.

Finally got around to fixing my error in this box. The amp out is now grounded and muted when going out to the tuner.
