This is a Rosebud I am working on for James S . just finished the inlay , more carving to do but, getting there.

The real rosebud does not have the inlayed pickup ring like the recent observation of tigers.

oops . I guess I went over board. Thanks for the tip. BTW Waldo, are there Garnets or some kind of jewels in the eyes of the rosebud? Also, are the MIDI components under the oval?

Actually, there is nothing in rosebuds eyes, the cavities were empty. Not exactly sure where the midi components are, but can tell you it is either under it or in the control cavity.

I prefer the inlaid pickup ring. Looks nicer, IMO.

Check out Ron Kirn's strats, his flush-mounted neck plates, jack plates and back plates are killer. His guitars put real Fenders to shame.

I see what you mean. I really dig the flush mounted/inlaid plates. Very nice.

Damn, I log in, check out this thread and Leo's Tiger thread and now I am freaking out. :-) Sensory overload. :smile:

She is almost done , only the electronics install and the final assembly left.
