Just for the fun of it, I'm stickin' one in there at the end of the China/Cat solo that is in E.
After the E part it goes to B.
Then the it jogs down to A then D to set up the return to verse in G.
On the D there is a slight pause before retuning to the G.
I'm makin' that D a D+, so it goes A>D+>G(Verse).
It's just a take off on Stormy Monday, but it's fun for the moment.
I did notice in a search that there is a Aug passing chord in Victim.

Technically, maybe. But doesn't have the traditional sound or feel.

The back half of the verse walkup is chromatic off the E, Esus4, E-5, E (w/extra 5), E+5

Don't know much about jazz chord substitutions, but I think the Dom 7 sharp 9 chord has something to do with the idea.
I love how they've always used those kind of passing 7 and 9 chords in a so many musical ways---way more dim than aug though.

7#9 is whole different set of intervals (as I laid out), but YMMV, I guess.

Frost 10/10/82 is the tape from my very early collecting days where I first noticed and absorbed it, but I've heard it in other Spaces since then. I love this- starting at 2:07 in Space is an E Aug descending arpeggio, that gets bumped around chromatically a little bit, lasting maybe 10-15 seconds http://archive.org/details/gd1982-10-10 ... eok.flac16

They're completely different chords, however, the point is that they can be used in conjunction with each other.

Please this sequence:

E7#9 -> C+ -> Am

or

E7b9 -> C+ -> Am

Try playing notes from the the Am harmonic scale over those changes.
