This may be old news, but, I just noticed that, on the Bob Weir "Ace" album, on a few songs, Jerry is panned hard to the Left.
For example, on Playin' in the Band, if you turn your stereos Balance knob all the way to the Right, and put your guitar amp where your Left speaker is, you now own the Jerry part.
I found this to be a great practice-tool, as this recording of PITB has a nice long jam that was done in the Studio.
Black Throated Wind is mixed in a similar manner.

So you can listen and learn the Jerry parts by putting the balance all the way to the Left, then play the Jerry parts along with most of the rest of the band by turning the Balance all the way to the Right.
