It's been really fun to play with effects with Mike over the years. He also introduced me to Stacey Starkweather, who is an effects genius. We made a recording of just bass effects together that I'll have to be putting on SoundCloud one of these days.

It's weird that this came up now because I just got conscripted to play two nights of Phish music, so I'm having to go back and relearn how I played before I started playing all this country, bluegrass and GD music. It was helpful to see some of the video to remind how I had some of my rig set up a while back and that effects is a big part of it all. OK, how does Stash go again?

Rather dificultly, if you're doing the Trey part! Not bad if you're not.

I just went over it for the first time in years. What I sort of don't get is how the bass and guitar lines don't really line up for several parts. The phrases are simple enough that they could but the bass part finishes slightly before the guitar every time. Odd folks, those Phishes.

That's a great video. Informative. I don't know when this video was taken but I'm sure after playing on Phil's rig at TRI changed his perspective on things.

Very very cool Edwin

During the NYE MSG run this year, I believe. The new, smaller Meyer speaker setup is brand new, during the summer he was still using that huge double 18" that was about twice as wide, with a lit up unit in the bottom 2 spaces in his top rack that I believe was his power amp? It's in the space he now uses for the device that switches on and off the individual Meyer speakers.

Just checked out the TRI vid and it doesn't look like Phil had his rig there. I know Phil currently uses the Meyers cabs.

I don't think he ever played Phil's Meyer rig but he said it was because of his appreciation of Phil's tone. The NYE run was the first time he played with the new rig... for him anyways.
