I'm in the process of working on a Tiger-inspired build. In studying Herb Green photos of Tiger and Rosebud, it appears the upper "horn" on Rosebud extends slightly further than that of Tiger (see link for side by side comparison). By my count Rosebud's horn appears to extend to about the 15th fret, while Tiger's goes only to about the 17th fret. I believed Rosebud and Tiger were of identical body shapes but it appears I was wrong. Does anyone know why Irwin apparently extended the horn for Rosebud?

I don't have a guess as to why the horn is a little longer other than that both guitars are handmade and therefore not exactly identical. That is just my guess.

Most logical reason is balance. Extending the upper horn helps prevent neck-dive.

I am not sure either. I have noticed that the Tiger bass he made for Phil is identical to the rosebud shape But, bigger. So he could reproduce that shape twice. Balance is a good guess though. those brass M6's are heavy.

At the risk of sounding simplistic, maybe it was just so they didnt look EXACTLY the same
