I love the sound of the wah in the Playin Jam. It sounds more "slippery" and spacey compared to the MuTron.

I'm pretty sure there was a discussion about this and someone said you could see the wah In Sunshine Daydream at some point .... although I cant remember if that was a '71 show ....

Somewhere but don't ask me to go find it. It's from Fillmore West, Jerry on the Les Paul Special.

I knew Waldo would come through! Well that explains it- he got THAT sound from a Colorsound/Morley/Vox/Thomas/MuTron pedal. Those annual shopping trips must have been a blast.

The Fulltone Deluxe looks like it has a lot of flexability, could probably do two or three of those listed pedals.

So basically it doesn't matter what kind/brand of wah-wah it is. But back on topic, it does make a difference between a wah and the MuTron III. I prefer the sound of a wah during the Playin Jam and for Greatest Story. The MuTron III sounds a bit "one dimentional" compared to the wah in these songs.

No Vox, i believe it is the chrome top of the colorsound that instigates that.

I dont have one but I was playing with an RMC-4 wah. It was probably the nicest wah ive ever heard.

(7 beats then 9 beats).
That's "odd"

Next thing you know they'll be coming up with "The Eleven"......

We just started doing GSET so I broke it out .....
Pulled off nicely! Good job on that tricky instrumental part (7 beats then 9 beats).
Thanks .... we are just starting to get it ....
I like the 73 versions arrangement and energy a lot but LOVE the Mutron sounds of the 80's more I think ....
Unless I listen to Ace and then I dig the wah .....

Here's a truly great gear shot imho. You can see Keith's custom piano mixer, and just look at that wall of nine Macs to Garcia's right. And there's a ColorSound wah sitting on the floor. This is a later ColorSound sighting than any I'm aware of, Winterland Dec. 14-16 1972.
