I recently got a guitar with a Waldo buffer also.
I must say I am not a fan of having to deal with batteries in the guitar.
The pedal buffer uses a common Boss power supply, and can be used with any instrument.
I have only changed the battery once in the 2 years I have had my guitar and it also has a Stratoblaster , too
I dont think the buffer eats that much juice .... you are changing the battery often ?
When the guitar is plugged in, the battery is being drained.
I can't remember to unplug the guitar after playing it.
For years and years I have had guitars set up ready to play at the flick of a switch in several rooms here at the house.
I now have one that I look over and say... oh shit, woops, it's been plugged in for several days now.
Now I'm not sure if the battrery is still O.K. to gig with... because i've seen another guys axe crap out during a gig, and the battery was the culprit.
'Jus' sayin'... Having both, I think the buffer pedal is more versitile for my needs.
