There is a thread in "Everything Else" with a link to audio of Hunter doing Promentory Rider with the JGB. Great stuff, but there's an interesting stage shot filler photo on the screen which looks like it's showing both Jer and Kahn with MC2300's with Fender heads on top.

I've seen quite a few shots like that on The Jerry Site. John's rig in most years seemed to be a copy of Jerry's except for 15" speakers instead of 12"s, and presumably a closed-back cabinet. (Come on, money fairy, get to work, I need an SMS!)

Interesting, Looks like Jerry is using a 4x12 cabinet? That oughta do it, don't you think?

Jerry used the 4x12 from about 1977 to the early 80's sometime (I probably posted some more exact dates at some point). At one point there was so much talk on this board about the 3x12 that he used in the mid and later 80's, that it could lead one to believe that it was all he ever used!

Kahn's rig was a Fender Bassman head circa-1964 (Brownface transitioning to Blackface), preamping an MC2300, and a Dual Showman-like (Hard Trucker?) 2x15 cab.

Waldo, did you ever get any comments from Healy about the Mark IIA? Was it stock, or given component upgrades, mods, etc.?

Ah, that's good info! How does that Bassman head compare/contrast to a Twin/SMS?

Nah, it's the white DiMarzios. White ones are loaded with tone- and they don't wear out as fast. ;-)

I've never used one, all I know is that this amp appears to match the scant photo evidence of Kahn's rig.
