Sounds like you just need a new neck, setup to your needs, and a good luthier who does outstanding finish work. $1,000

Yeah, Warmoth and "lack of playability" are not often mentioned together.
Honest question. Was that sarcasm? I've never played a Warmoth or know anybody that has, but I have been considering doing a build with their stuff.

If you want a hand built one Phiga guitars builds a Tiger. I owned a Phiga Eagle and liked it but in some cases you do get what you pay for. Not to say $3,500 isn't a solid chunk of cash but the market for the real good ones are over $5k.

I'm going to save forever for a Bare Bones Wolf or a Scott Walker custom rig... Strat wolf theme nonetheless.

My Warmoth Wolf I had build around 1996. I don't *think* there were any real luthier options around then, but I could be wrong. I sold this on Ebay back in 2002. The guy who bought it put on a Wolf sticker and a Roland Midi adapter- pretty cool

no pic- "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

But it was all pretty fantastic workmanship. It had to be bolt-on, obviously. But still, a very nice way to go to save some money-

I was just on Scott Walkers site right before I came back here. Those have to be the best looking guitars I have ever seen, and for under 5k! Someday :D

I built a "budget" Tiger without all the brass, cocobolo back, rear inlay, etc. ... still gets the tone in spades.

However, if I were to do it again, I would just have Scott Walker make me a guitar that will do the Jerry thing and so much more ... like I eventually did. Especially if I already had the Warmoth for the visual thing. The Walker is far nicer to play than my Tiger guitar is, even after Brawer redid the neck and the wiring.

I'm gonna be soooo unpopular but I'd strongly suggest really thinking about your custom guitars.

These are yours! Be sure that you love them and each and every part of it! For 5k you can get 2 custom axes from many quality builders out there and have it perfect FOR YOU.

okay, annoying PSA over.

you're talking factory guitars right? (eg. fender custom shop)

cause a small time builder would not be making much off a $2500 guitar
