I have been researching spray painting my guitar. I am going to use krylon color coat and deft clear coat.

Anyone have any tips on this? Should I prime the guitar before the colo coats? How long does it take for the primer to dry? Any general tips?

Thanks Alex

I would check out stew-mac for guitar specific spray paints and sights like this one http://www.diyguitarist.com/ and http://www.projectguitar.com/ You can probably find everything you need to know in there. I almost forgot, check youtube and see if any videos come up of finishing a guitar.

Another great site is here: http://reranch.com/reranch/index.php It's a whole forum dedicated to do-it-yourself guitar finishes.

Do any of you guys know where I can get Deft Lacquer in a spray can? I though it used to be sold at lowes but i cant find it, Im in atlanta GA.
I know I could get it online but i hate paying shipping for something that costs less then the shipping price?

Thanks Alex

Speaking of 'painting a guitar...
We have a guy out here Simon Babbs who does some cool guitar painting.

Why spray when you can dip?
