Saw the show in Coney Island on the 26th. What is that pink guitar Weir has? Looks like a Strat Headstock but black.

It's the Modulus Blackknife that he played from March '88 to July '88

Random info - Danny Ransom tells me he was one of the sub-contractors that worked on the guitar for Modulus. If I remember correctly he was involved in the body as opposed to the neck.

The Pepto guitar is considered one of the best sounding blackknife guitars according to Geoff Gould. Like someone mentioned Weir started playing the guitar in 1988. The pickups had the single coils squeezed together like his Cocobolo guitar but a couple months ago the pickguard broke and they switched the guard back to a standard strat style pickguard. Weir also wanted to get rid of the graphite neck and the neck was changed to a custom bolt on neck like the Genesis style necks. They still have a graphite rod through the neck just like the genesis.

Also, I believe it was the GD Gearbook that said it was originally used by Dylan who came to SF without a guitar in hand for their tour together.

I found a few close-up picks and see that the pickups are different now.
