Hello people,
My name is Doug. I have been a long time reader of this forum but have never posted anything on here before. I have been playing guitar for about forty years, and all of them playing "Bobby". I would like to put a picture of my gear up, but I'm kind of new to this whole "tech thing" (My phone still has a dial on it!). Any tips?. I'm sure it's easy, but you know us old farts. Thanks in advance.

Get a free PhotoBucket account and upload your pics there. Each pic will have a unique URL which you can post here using the 'Img' tag. It's easy.

I opened a Photobucket account and uploaded my photos, but I can't figure out how to get them to this forum. Any suggestions. Thanks.

I don't use photobucket but most of these sites work in a similar way. You need to get the web address of the image or the URL. To do this go to the image (if you have size choices select the image size you want. There may be a "share" link or something like that this may work. If the address ends in .jpg it'll work. If not got to the image, right click the image or ctrl + click and select "view image" this will load just the image in your web browser (without all the other web page stuff). Go to the address bar and copy the web address (starts with http:// and ends with.jpg). Go to the rukind message interface and select the button "Img" above the text box where you type messages. Paste this web address between the brackets like this [Img]web address[Img]

With Photobucket, hold your cursor over the photo in your album that you want to link and a "drop down" should appear. Click on the second one "direct link", and that should copy the link. Then use "paste" to insert that link between the two [img] brackets in your draft post here.

I tried. No go. Even had the librarian help to no avail. As Jerry once said" "Nah, f**ck it, well nice try, maybe next time."

Assuming you have some fairly recent version of Windows, you should be able to right-click on the pic and choose "copy shortcut" from the menu that pops up. Then click the Img button above and paste the shortcut between the two tags that pop up, like this:

I finally got the pictures up. The post is "My Wall Of Noise. With the help of a computer genius (He'll be 9 on Tuesday!) and all of your help, I was able to do it. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the entire photos up (Too big?).
