Another reason why I love my very reasonably priced, very simple to use Line 6 M13. It includes well over a hundred effect pedals of all types, plus a noise gate, EQs, tuner, looper, really everything one would need for a gig or otherwise. Is every effect as great as what it models? No. Are they all useful and usable? No. Does each pedal type bank include as least one or two that will satisfy you? That I can't answer. For me, someone who loves playing Dead and digs and respects Jerry's tone but is not obsessed with always copying it precisely, yes. The examples that follow show 1 apiece of the M13's overdrive, envelope filter, and delay models.

very nice jon. i am thinkin just narrowing it down to like env, octave, dist, delay and maybe buying a mini phase 90 i see around. I probably should go buy a boss octave or one of those mini digitech ones. here is my regular rig tone

I just did this in July. Took a huge bag, checked it, which I know can be scary, but I knew I had a week until "showtime", just in case of any baggage weirdness. Take less clothes, if that's an option. So you can fit the board in and not go over weight.
As a bonus I know my board weighs 30 pounds
