So I stumbled across 6/1/85 JGB and 6/3/85 JGB, and the notes for these two shows say that Jerry played a Modulus guitar. This is the first time I've heard this guitar mentioned. From some cursory searches online, I think the closest I came to finding info on the guitar was mention on Rich Hoeg's website that while at Modulus, he built a custom graphite “neck-through-body” guitar for Jerry Garcia. I cant5 seem to find any other info or photos of this guitar in action.

Anybody know any more about this?

I do know it was wired the same as Tiger and toured as a backup to it.

Thanks Waldo. That's interesting for sure. I'm curious to know if there are any photos of it floating around out there?

There's this "Unidentified Electric Guitar" on Herb Greene's site. "Other Instruments owned by the Grateful Dead" .... pure speculation.

Without a doubt a Jerry Guitar!

Nice Find.

No surprise he hated it. Early BlackKnife necks were like a 7" radius. Crazy curvy. Later Genesis ones were nice and flat!!

That is so cool that you found that! I learn something new about ol Jer's rig and gear ALL the time. So cool. Thanks all...

Any pics of his Steinberger out there? That was a wacky one. My impression is he just used it for practice.

Also he had a little GK ML250 (aka "Rush in a Box") amp for same purposes, I seem to recall.

I wonder if the same rep who got one into Kahn's hands got that one into Jerry's? Like "Here, Jerry, you can have this guitar if you pose for a picture". Looks about right timewise, Kahn used his from 86 or maybe 85 on.
