any body using Line6 or other modelers

Been using a Bandmaster Reverb head, 15" cab. Emma autowah, EQ, Boss octave, LPB-1 as buffer sortof, old Ibanez delay, and the boost of the day.

Really would like to use the Pod or something simple to carry. These old knees would appreciate it.

Fractal is out of price range, so Pod, Avid Eleven rack or other.

But then I think if I take a full range monitor and a rack, I may as well take the damned BMR. I mean I don't need 100's of tones, just 3-4

Thanks.

If you Search you can find my old thread with my LIne 6 M13 effect settings. I'm quite satisfied with that unit and in fact it has replaced my painstakingly assembled individual effects board entirely. You could cop a Pod HD500 and get all of the M13's effects plus Line 6's amp and cab modelers with an on-board pedal. I, myself, have not tried the unit but there are lots of threads and posts on it over on The Gear Page.

I use an eleven rack and I love it. The tones are fantastic, and the twin model is one of the best. There's no envelope filter and no user cabinets, so you can't get the JBL tones or the autowah stuff for Jerry tones without something else. But if Jerry tones aren't the main thing you're after, the 11R is great. I had an axe fx and sold it for the 11r because I liked the tones better - they just feel like a real amp.

I have a nice env filter, can't you add cabs to the 11R using Impulse Responses?

What amp/cab do you run yours through? I'm not after absolute Jerry tone, but my version

The Line 6 units include an envelope filter. Not too tough to guess what unit they modeled.

Theres a guy here in denver's shakedown street uses the m13. It sounds pretty good. I have the mod pro in my rack and am thinking about getting the m9 to replace the mod pro and my delay unit. I'm a big analog head but with the mods and delay stuff these modellers get close enough for me. Your still warming the digital up with a tube. Except maybe analog delay. But I dont really get into the dirty echo thing. Line 6 IMHO is some of the best digital stuff out there. You see it in alot pro rigs. Greg...

You can't use IR's with the 11R, so if you want to get the JBL thing going on, you have to either get a cabinet with them in there or get a separate speaker sim thing like one of those torpedoes. But the cabs that are in the 11R are really great. There just isn't that one specific thing that Jerry used.

I also use an M13 for effects with my amps and with the 11R -- they're great, can't imagine going back to a bunch of pedals with power supply buzz and cables and all that crap.

My strategy is to go all analog, with no digital anything. Just my 2cents. None of that digital stuff ever sounds all that good to me.

Having owned both I'd probably choose the Eleven rack over the L6 HD Series. It has a better "tube amp feel" to me than the HD but those are good too. The most important part will be your monitor choice, I use an AxeFxII these days and love it through a QSC K12, not so much through a Mackie SRM450. Don't be afraid to head over the the Pro Audio room at Guitar Mart and try your setup through different speaker types until you find a combo you like.

Also check out a wah controller from Mission which has a much more natural feel for guitarists than most expression pedals.
